Wednesday, July 21: Mid-Morning Set-Up at the San Diego Convention Center

From the empty convention hall lobby, it doesn't look like the largest comic-cartoon convention in North America; fortunately, though, exhibitors, like Doug, can get set up the morning of Preview Night.

What!  No line-up to get into the convention hall???  Well, after all, it's only 10 a.m. and the doors didn't officially open until 6 p.m. for those attending Preview Night on Wednesday, July 21.

SDCC attendees started lining up mid-morning on Wednesday, July 21, even though Preview Night didn't begin until 6 p.m.  However, on  Sunday it was packed solid outside the convention center by 7:30 a.m.

Steve Morger, owner of Big Wow Art, ordered custom vertical banners for each of the artists invited to exhibit with the group.  This was Doug's fourth year with Big Wow Art.

Stan Sakai, creator of Usagi Yojimbo, and his wife also got to the convention center mid-morning to set-up their exhibit space, which was across the aisle from Doug's corner space with the Big Wow Art group.
